Theseus and the Maze, created by Jaj, is a platform exploration game, in which you must escape a large maze, with as many diamonds as possible, as fast as you can.

You play the role of a pink little creature, which can only jump so high at the start of the game. Throughout the game, you get better jumping, as well as a double jump skill.

The graphics in the game were very nice, and worked well with the rest of the game. All the creatures and obstacles that you meet throughout the game had great pixel art, making the game a lot more enjoyable.

To get to different areas of the game, you have to find keys to unlock doors, as well as hit switches to make something change (for example, make a platform appear somewhere, or a portal open).

The game also features some nice music, that doesn’t get repetitive in anyway. It just swings along at a nice pace.
The sound effects are simple, but effective. They work well, sound good, and make the game feel much more polished and complete.

And, like every game should, the challenge slowly increases, as different harder obstacles come into play.

Lastly, the game has an online high score table, to show who beat the game with the most diamonds.

With all these great features, the game is really an enjoyable play. The game play is simple, yet effective, and a good length.

Game Play : 8/10
Graphics: 8/10
Music: 9/10
Interface: 7/10
Total: 8/10

Well, I was bored last night, and I felt like writing. I didn't feel like writing a story, so I instead wrote about GM... a little weird, but, whatever.

Anyways, after messing around with different stuff, I decided to make a 1 issue magazine thing. I wont make any more issues, just this one. I made all the graphics for it in Paint.net, and wrote the whole thing, including the scripts. There are currently 8 pages. If I feel the need, I may add more, although, currently, I am tired of writing. I also don't have a name for it, so I just stuck Game Maker Magazine on it.

Lastly, I wasn't actually planning on posting this anywhere, but I felt it was good enough to do so.

As a note, when I converted it to a .PDF, it changed all the images to jpeg or something, so they look a little weird...

You can download it from Box.net: http://www.box.net/shared/j1mkrlob0j

Tdub (On the GMC, tdub311) just got an amazing score in my game, Pixel Runner. He scored a total of 751 points. The average person I have talked to usually gets around 30-100 points, but this new high score is amazing - I couldn't get that high. (My personal record is 473).

Good job Tdub!

Google just released their beta browser, called Chrome. It looks pretty nice, and I kind of want to download it and try it out. It seems to have a simple interface, and apparently loads pages pretty fast.

So, has anyone tried out this new browser? If so, please tell me about it, and your opinions on it!

A little while ago Yoyo Games announced the fourth competition, with a Green theme - Save the Planet. It has still not been announced formally, but should be soon.

Personally, I am going to enter this one. In fact, my brother, The Berryster, and I have already got our project underway, and it is coming along quite well. He is a pretty good Pixel Artist, and I know my way around Game Maker pretty well now, so I think we stand a good chance. Although, if competition 04 is anything like 03 was, then we will definitely have some pretty good competitors.

So, do you plan on entering the competition?
